Post by GrJ Computers, Javi, essejc,Here is the error, there were no recent changes made to SBS. I remove
the AV because some knowledgebase articles said that it might be the
AV; but the service still stops in intervals.
Event ID 1005.
Unexpected error <<0xc1050000 - Network problems are preventing
connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer. An unexpected,
unknown error has occurred. Microsoft Exchange Server Information
Store ID no: 80040115-0514-00000006>> occurred.
Any help will be great. Thanks.
Since SBS is its own beast, please post all SBS2003 questions in
microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs. I'm setting up my reply to crosspost
there.
I suggest you download and install the SBS BPA and the Exchange BPA (best
practices analyzer) and also review your event logs for clues.
EventID 1005 has multiple Source Names. The Source name would help because
some EventIDs have more than one source name and we must scroll through them
to determine which one it is.I think the original poster is referring to:
EventID 1005, Source Name = MSExchangeSA, with error code 0xc1050000, means
that the store is not mounted for some reason.

Check all of the Microsoft Exchange services to make sure they are started.
If not started, start them, please. If they do not start, check the Event
Application Log for errors. Post the eventID# and source name please.
Check the ESM to make sure the stores (mailbox and public stores) have been
mounted. If not, mount the stores. If they do not mount, record the errors
or messages you receive, as well as any additional Event Application Log
errors.
My initial feelings are that if antivirus software was installed and
running, and the proper exclusions were never made to exclude the Exchange
folders in \program files\exchsrv folder and subfolders, and the
database/transaction logs if they are in a different location, the AV app
may have quarantined or deleted the E00.log transaction log file. If this is
the case, and the AV program has truly deleted it, and not simply
quarantined it, it will have to be regenerated. If it was quarantined, you
can pull it out of the AV quarantine and put it back. Hopefully that is the
case.
